SUMMARY:The MWV Choral Society presents : Baroque Christmas
DESCRIPTION:The Mount Washington Valley Choral Society presents two choral
  masterworks for the holiday season from the Baroque era: Francesco Dura
 nte's "Magnificat\," and Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria." The choir is accompa
 nied by a chamber orchestra of period instruments. The program also featur
 es selections from the earlier Renaissance era that heavily influenced lat
 er generations\, including Michael Praetorius' beloved "Lo\, How a Rose E'
 er Blooming" from 1599\, and Thomas Luis de Victoria's "O Magnum Mysterium
 " (O Great Mystery) from 1572. George Wiese conducts from the harpsichord.
