Arts Council of Tamworth Brings Back An Afternoon by the Swift With All-New Music Line-up
Tamworth, NH – The Arts Council of Tamworth will be bringing back its wildly successful summer music festival, An Afternoon by the Swift, on Saturday, June 13th. Taking place in the spacious back lawn of Tamworth Distilling from 12 PM to 4 PM, the music fest will feature live music, food trucks, and lawn games and other family activities hosted by the Tamworth Recreation Department.
The event is free for the whole community, though attendees should bring cash for food and drinks–and maybe chairs or a blanket to relax on while listening to the bands. The event is able to be free in part through the generous sponsorship of Hobbs Tavern & Brewing Co. and Norway Savings Bank, with additional support from the Tamworth Foundation and Tamworth Distilling.
The music will kick off with some high-energy bluegrass from the DellaValla Trio, followed by the eclectic acoustic rock of Food for Bears, and then the Jim McLaughlin & Al Hospers Group will bring it all home with some jazz and funk. Food trucks will include the Rek-Lis Brewing Co., Papa Bean’s Ice Cream, and the Tamworth Outing Club’s snack trailer. Tamworth Distilling will be open and selling its libations from 12 PM to 5 PM.
“We are excited to have an entirely new line-up of bands for this year’s An Afternoon by the Swift,” said Arts Council of Tamworth Executive Director Julian Long. “The views of the Swift River are not to be missed, and we think it’s one of the best ways to kick off the summer season.”
